R Ashwin On Harshit Rana: पूर्व भारतीय स्टार क्रिकेटर R Ashwin ने ऑस्ट्रेलिया के खिलाफ आगामी वनडे सीरीज के लिए भारतीय तेज गेंदबाज Harshit Rana के Selection के बारे में पूछे जाने पर अपनी राय सामने रखी है। कुछ युवा खिलाड़ी तीनों फॉर्मेट में Debut करने का सपना देखते हैं, वहीं दूसरी ओर Harshit Rana ने बहुत कम उम्र में तीनों फॉर्मेट में भारतीय टीम में जगह बना ली है, लेकिन इसके बावजूद उन्हें प्लेइंग इलेवन में ज्यादा मौके नहीं मिलते। प्लेइंग इलेवन में हर्षित का नाम देखकर कई प्रशंसक असमंजस में थे कि उन्हें टीम में क्यों रखा गया। कुछ को लगा कि ऐसा इसलिए है क्योंकि उनका भारतीय मुख्य कोच गौतम गंभीर के साथ KKR Connection है; इसलिए वह तीनों फॉर्मेट में पसंदीदा खिलाड़ी हैं।

R Ashwin ने हाल ही में अपने यूट्यूब चैनल पर एक वीडियो शेयर किया जिसमें उन्होंने Harshit के भारतीय टीम में चुने जाने के बारे में बताया। जब भारतीय क्रिकेट कंट्रोल बोर्ड (BCCI) ने टीम की घोषणा की, तो Harshit के टीम में चुने जाने के पीछे कोई तर्क नहीं दिया गया था। हालाँकि, Ashwin का मानना है कि ऐसा इसलिए किया गया क्योंकि ज़रूरत पड़ने पर वह बल्ले से भी उपयोगी साबित हो सकते हैं।
आर अश्विन ने कहा,
“Why they are selecting him, I am not sure. I would love to be in the selection meeting to know the reason behind his inclusion. From my side, the reason I see is that in Australia we need that fast bowler who can bat. Someone trusts that he can bat, which is why they are selecting him as a potential No. 8. But I am not sure about his batting ability. Two years back he bowled a brilliant pacy delivery in the IPL final that flew off the edge. He has played for a while now for that one delivery.”

“But he definitely has the ability with the ball. I will not accept it if someone says he doesn’t have the skill. He definitely does. Such selections happen sometimes because you observe something from a player at close quarters and gain belief in him. Today, everyone hails Ravindra Jadeja as a great player. But a time was there when some asked why Ravindra Jadeja is a great player. But a time was there when some asked why Ravindra Jadeja was getting picked. I’ve picked up 540 wickets, yet there were people who asked why I was getting picked.”
R Ashwin ने यह भी कहा की,
“Many people make judgmental calls based on their assumptions. But only when we face the music on the ground will we come to know. Likewise, Harshit Rana might come across in some way from a distance. But only when you face a heavy ball from him will you understand that he has something. Whether he deserves selection or not is a secondary issue, but he’s got some X-factor; let’s not forget that. Yet, if you ask me if he deserves selection now, it’s very questionable.”

Now, it will be interesting to see whether Harshit Rana will be able to break into the Playing XI against Australia in the upcoming games or not. The Men In Blue will start their campaign against Australia in a three-match ODI series starting from October 19. India’s campaign against Australia will start on October 19 (Perth), October 23 (Adelaide), and October 25 (Sydney).
