हाल ही में एक इंटरव्यू में अभिमन्यु ईश्वरन ने कई बार अपनी अनदेखी के बारे में बात की। उन्होंने कहा,
“Yes, it does hurt sometimes. You put in all the effort and train hard, and the dream is to be in the middle, to perform, and to contribute to wins. But I’m fortunate to have a solid support system: my family, friends, and coach. They help me stay grounded and motivated. Right now, I’m in a good headspace and looking forward to Ranji season.”
उन्होंने आगे कहा,
“I try to stay focused on things I can control. Work harder, train better. Yes, it feels bad sometimes, but that’s natural. The only solution is to keep improving. I’m working on a couple of new shots this season; I won’t reveal which ones (laughs), but hopefully, they’ll come off well. Playing for India is the biggest motivation. Even when I play for Bengal, I feel immense pride. So, that itself lifts me up.”

National team में मौका न मिलने के बावजूद, ईश्वरन ने उम्मीद नहीं छोड़ी है। उनका मानना है कि सूर्यकुमार यादव और माइकल हसी जैसे दिग्गजों ने भी थोड़ी देर से डेब्यू किया।
उन्होंने कहा,
“I’m a big fan of Michael Hussey. Even before his Australia debut, he was consistently scoring in domestic cricket. His journey shows what perseverance can achieve. Even Suryakumar Yadav made his India debut after 30 and is now leading the team; it’s incredible. Players like them are great examples. So yes, it’s always at the back of my mind—’Why not me?’”

Easwaran ने प्रथम श्रेणी क्रिकेट में 29 अर्धशतकों और 27 शतकों की मदद से कुल 7,600 रन बनाए हैं। 30 वर्षीय यह खिलाड़ी कई सीज़न में रणजी ट्रॉफी में बंगाल के लिए सबसे ज़्यादा रन बनाने वाला खिलाड़ी भी रहा है, लेकिन अभी तक राष्ट्रीय टीम में पदार्पण नहीं कर पाया है।
